My favourite flower...

My favourite flower...

...too bad I don't know its common nor its scientific names. Can some "botanist" out there help me out? It was taken in the humid hills of Mafra region, Center / West region of Portugal, more or less 15 Km's away from Sea, and I've seen it exposed to direct sunlight as well as in more shaded areas with only a couple of hours of direct sunlight...! Its my favourite flower, I would badly like to know its name...!

P.S. - No plants were unrooted or destroyed during this "session" as this photo was taken in the wild, not in any sort of "controlled conditions room" as it may eventually appear!

Day 121 - A Study In Shades

Day 121 - A Study In Shades

I converted a photograph of a red and white poppy to grayscale to study the shades that different color create once the color is removed.

I decreased the amount of reds to darken the red areas of the original photo and I increased the amount of greens to lighten the foliage around the flower.

Technical data: aperture f/11.0, exposure 1/125th sec, ISO 100.
